Ninety nepali womens locked in room, sri lanka Two Nepalis were injured in a clash that erupted between youths from Nepal and India at the no-man’s land following a debate over construction of a dam by Indian authorities. Dev Narayan Yadav of Tilathi-4 and Roshan Jha of Tilathi-6 were injured after receiving stones hurled by the Indians. Among the injured, the condition of Yadav is said to be serious. It is learnt that Indian locals targeted Yadav as he had been protesting the dam constructed illegally by the Southern neighbor. The clash was ensued after local youths demolished a dam that was being constructed by India at the no-man’s land breaching international norms. Nepali youths damaged some 80 percent of the dam constructed by India. Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. Its diverse landscapes range from rainforest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. It’s famed for its ancient Buddhist ruins, including the 5th-century citadel Sigiriya, with its palace and frescoes. CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal registered his nomination for the prime ministerial election on Tuesday. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba proposed Dahal as the candidate for new Prime Minister, while CPN Maoist Centre leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara seconded Deuba. Three Madhesi leaders — Upendra Yadav of Social Forum-Nepal, Sarvendra Nath Shukla of Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party and Laxman Lal Karna of Sadbhawana Party — have supported Dahal’s candidacy along with lawmakers Jayadev Joshi, Chandeshwar Jha and Kumar Khadka. Meanwhile, the CPN-UML has decided not to field any candidate in the prime ministerial election but vote against Dahal. The party of outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided to remain as the main opposition party. After the deadline to choose new Prime Minister through consensus ended on Sunday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari asked the Parliament to hold election to form majoritarian government as per the constitutional provision. Speaker Onsari Gharti on Monday has called a meeting of the Parliament for 11 am on Wednesday to elect the new Prime Minister. One of the key constituents in the KP Sharma Oli-led coalition, Dahal’s party Maoist Centre had joined forces with the main Nepali Congress to bring down the incumbent government. They moved a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Oli, which forced him to put in papers. Top leaders of Maoist Centre and Nepali Congress have apparently made an agreement that Dahal would serve as the Prime Minister for some months before handing over handing over power to Deuba.

Nepal’s parliament meets on Wednesday in a crucial session that is expected to confirm former Maoist rebel chief Prachanda as the Himalayan nation’s new prime minister after K.P. Oli stepped down to avoid a no-confidence motion.

Nepal has been mired for years in political instability, and the new leader will be its 24th prime minister after weeks of deadly protests established multi-party democracy in 1990.

This will be the 61-year-old Prachanda’s second turn as premier after his party of former guerrilla fighters won national elections in 2008.

Analysts say the return of Prachanda, who still uses his nom de guerre meaning “Fierce” but has lost his former Robin Hood image dating back to the insurgency, was unlikely to end the revolving-door politics that has sapped business confidence in one of the world’s poorest countries.

“I don’t think he will be stable,” said Guna Raj Luitel, editor of the daily Nagarik.

“There is no agreement between parties on a basic agenda for the country. They have only agreed for convenience and there is already a deal to change the prime minister after nine months.”

A majority of crimes registered to police in the first five months of this fiscal year were in the eastern and the central regions, data provided by Nepal Police Headquarters show.

Police had maintained the database of the crimes under 14 headings which include murder, attempt to murder, theft and burglary, abduction and rape.

According to the data, 82 cases of murder and 101 cases of attempt to murder were reported in Central region, highest among all the regions. Drug related crimes and abduction were equal in both eastern and central regions. The eastern region witnessed the highest number of crimes related to possession of illegal arms with 35 reported cases. The eastern region also topped the list of crimes related to human trafficking (21), rape (141) and attempt to rape (78).

Crimes related to torture and assault over witchcraft allegation were high in the central region with 13 reported cases.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Nawaraj Silwal, former chief of Eastern Regional Police Office, said though the report suggests a rise in criminal activities, it should be read as an increase in the number of people reporting the crime.

He claimed that more people are reporting criminal activities, including minor offences, that take place in their community.

Teej is a festival which is celebrated by nepali hindu womens throughout the country. Teej is a cultural, religious and social festival in which all married women visit their old parents hole. Altogether 1,959 Nepali migrant workers staying in Malaysia illegally have returned home after surrendering before Malaysia’s Immigration Department in the last six months.

According to a news published in a local daily, some 15,109 illegal migrant worker from various countries including Nepal had surrendered before the Immigration Department between the months of January and June this year and returned to their respective countries. Sri Lanka saw the highest number of its nationals surrendering before the Malaysian authorities to receive amnesty during this period, with 2,028 undocumented Sri Lankan migrant workers returning home. Similarly, Nepal came in second with 1,959 illegal Nepali migrant workers surrendering before the authorities and returning home while 1,858 Indians 1,629 Filipinos, 1,606 Indonesians, 1,016 Burmese, 1,009 Pakistanis, 952 Bangladeshis and 948 Vietnamese returned to their respective countries after surrendering before the Malaysian authorities during the period.

The Malaysian government has been granting amnesty to foreign workers who were staying in the country illegally so as to allow the latter group to return home after surrendering at the Immigration Department and paying a certain amount – 400 Malaysian Ringgit – as fine. Some 3,000 foreign workers staying in Malaysia illegally are said to have already benefited from the programme.

Similarly, Argha area located in the northern belt of the district witnessed the death of three persons from the same family in the landslide. The dead were Deb Bahadur Budha, Himal Budha and a woman. Other casualties are from Khawang- Dil Maya KC, Dabile Sunar and DK Sunar. Moreover, the District Police Office informed that Supari Malla and his son Mukesh from Puja-1 died in the landslides. Three persons died in Lung-6. They were Shiva Bahadur Sunar, Ranjana KC and Sushila KC. Meanwhile, those missing since the landslides are Chetman Pun, his daughter, Chetana Pun, her son and daughter, Man Bahadur Pun, his mother from Phopli-3; while Shova Rijal, Kali Pariyar, and Kiran Thapa from Lung-3, and Kuturi Sunar from Khawang-3. More than 400 Nepalese migrant workers have died on Qatar’s building sites as the Gulf state prepares to host the World Cup in 2022, a report will reveal this week.

The grim statistic comes from the Pravasi Nepali Co-ordination Committee, a respected human rights organisation which compiles lists of the dead using official sources in Doha. It will pile new pressure on the Qatari authorities – and on football’s world governing body, Fifa – to curb a mounting death toll that some are warning could hit 4,000 by the time the 2022 finals take place.

It also raises the question of how many migrant workers in total have died on construction sites since Qatar won the bid in 2010. Nepalese workers comprise 20% of Qatar’s migrant workforce, and many others are drafted in from countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

A focus on the Nepalese deaths has seen Fifa and Qatar battling a PR crisis that threatens to cast a long shadow over the event. Last week, appearing before EU officials, Theo Zwanziger, a senior Fifa executive who has publicly criticised the decision to award the tournament to Qatar, pledged that his organisation would be carrying out “on-the-spot visits” to ensure that workers’ rights were being respected.

But the promise is unlikely to reassure human rights organisations and labour groups, which have raised repeated concerns about Qatar’s kafala employment system, under which migrant workers are tied to their “sponsor” employers.

he District Natural Disaster Committee, Parbat has provided financial assistance to the family of Ankita Tamang who died in the July 26 landslide. Tamang from Nuwakot was a worker with the Baribeni-based Dhaulagiri Cotton Factory in the district. She was buried to death as the landslide hit the factory a week ago. Committee’s Coordinator and Chief District Officer Shambhu Marasini Monday handed Rs 45,000 to the bereaved family. Director of the Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum-Nepal (SSF-N) Upendra Yadav has discounted the likelihood of chats with the administration. The world’s longest glass skywalk has opened to tourists at the Longgang National Geological Park in the southwest Chinese city of Chongqing on April 26, 2015, the Chongqing Evening News reported.

Jutting out of a cliff’s edge, the glass skywalk sits at a height of 1,010 meters. The glass bridge is named “Yuanduan,” which means “at the end of the clouds.”

The glass observation bridge measures 26.68 metres in length–five metres longer than the skywalk at the Grand Canyon in the U.S. state of Arizona; making Yuanduan the longest bridge of its kind in the world.

Staff in the park said the bridge could withstand an 8.0-magnitude earthquake and level-14 typhoon.

The bridge is designed to host a maximum of 200 people at one time. However, the park has limited the number of people standing on the skywalk to 30 at a time to guarantee a better experience. The price to stand on the skywalk is 60 yuan, with each visitor allowed to stay on the bridge for 30 minutes.
